TMC2209 is a stepper motor driver designed compatible with 3D printers. It is compatible with existing 3D printer electronics and can replace TMC2208, A4988, and other stepper motor drivers. Features include quiet operation, precise micro-stepping, and sensorless homing. The driver has a default current of 1.25A, maximum current of 2.5A, and continuous stable printing current of 1.8A. Logic voltage is 3.3V / 5V; input voltage range is 5.5V–28V. Micro-stepping resolution supports up to 1/256. It uses a quiet, high-precision chopping algorithm to minimize noise during motion and at rest. The design emphasizes efficient heat dissipation with a large cooling area, reducing operating temperature compared to other drivers. Compatible with MKS SGEN-L; supports UART mode and infinite-bit stallGuard homing; configuration via jumper caps.
