Our filter granules consist of a carefully balanced mixture of activated carbon and ion exchangers. Thanks to the large surface structure, activated carbon binds substances that impair the taste, such as chlorine and its compounds. Ion exchangers absorb lime substances and heavy metals such as lead and copper, thereby removing them from the water. In addition, BWT filter granules feature a patented magnesium technology that releases magnesium ions into the filtered water in exchange for calcium ions.
