Calibration Method:
To ensure accurate readings over time, including those affected by component aging or temperature changes, calibration can be performed as follows. Preheating the device for at least 5 minutes before calibration is recommended.
Zero Calibration: With no current flowing, use a slotted screwdriver to adjust the zero potentiometer located behind the transformer until the ammeter’s decimal point flashes rapidly—this indicates optimal zero setting. Continuous light or no light suggests a positive zero offset; slow flashing indicates a negative offset.
Current Calibration: Apply a known load at approximately half the full-scale current. Adjust the amplitude potentiometer on the side of the transformer until the reading matches that of a standard reference meter. For higher accuracy, repeat both zero and span calibration steps as needed.
