This magnesium rod absorbs oxidizing substances and contaminants in water through electrolysis, helping to prevent rust in metal water tanks and extending the life of your RV water heater. Magnesium anode rods attract corrosive elements, protecting the tank from corrosion and prolonging its lifespan. If the anode rod becomes depleted or severely corroded, the water heater tank may begin to rust, crack, fail, or leak. These magnesium anode rods are 4.5 inches (115mm) long, 0.5 inch (13mm) in diameter, with 1/2-inch threads, and are compatible with Atwood water heaters. Use with Atwood models. To inspect or replace, unscrew the anode rod during tank draining. Replace if significantly corroded. It is recommended to keep a spare on hand. Color: Silver. Material: Magnesium alloy and steel.
