Triple-Axis Magnetometer Sensor Module for STEMMA QT and Qwiic Systems

The TLV493D 3-axis magnetometer is a compact sensor for detecting magnetic fields in three dimensions. It is suitable for applications such as proximity sensing, position tracking of magnets, and human interface devices like joysticks. This sensor measures magnetic fields with high accuracy across the X, Y, and Z axes. While it is not designed for compass applications due to insufficient sensitivity to Earth’s magnetic field, it excels at tracking nearby magnets in 3D space. Key specifications: - Digital output via standard I²C interface (2-wire), supporting up to 1 Mbit/sec - 12-bit resolution per axis - Linear measurement range up to ±130 mT for Bx, By, and Bz - High channel-to-channel matching for precise angle detection The sensor is mounted on a breakout board with supporting circuitry, including a voltage regulator and logic-level translation, enabling compatibility with both 3.3 V and 5 V microcontrollers. A dedicated pin provides access to unused 3.3 V power from the regulator.
