The USB 3.1 port interface uses the USB 3.0 pin configuration and is designed to be backwards compatible. Specifications for the USB 3.1 header have not been officially released as of this writing. First motherboards supporting this include IX FORMULA, STRIX Z270I, Z270G, etc. This cable supports USB 3.1 and USB 3.0 devices only and is not compatible with USB 2.0 (480 Mbps).
